DRIVING MAP

Rev. Sandy Nelson - April 12, 1938-December 8, 2020

 Dear Members and Friends,

It is with a heavy heart that I must share the news of Rev. Sandra Nelson's passing.  She surrendered this earthly life at 7:45 this morning after a valiant struggle with the Covid-19 virus. She will be missed by all for many reasons.

Please to continue to keep Dennis in your prayers for the highest and best for him, it is not looking good. [Dennis also has the Covid-19 infection]

As soon as plans are made, I will pass them along to you.

In the meantime, please take care and stay safe, do it out of respect for yourself and for others.

Cathy Dorr, Secretary

OBITUARY

Dennis Nelson - November 16, 1937-December 8, 2020

 Dear Members and Friends,

Dennis Nelson joined Sandy in the world of Spirit today at 5:20pm.  He crossed peacefully and comfortably.  As we all were aware Sandy and Dennis were partners in the truest sense of the word, rarely being apart from each other.

The funeral will be by invitation only, as only 25 people are able to attend.

A zoom funeral for ISA members will be announced.

Please keep the family in your prayers for strength and understanding.  The kids are handling this as well as can be expected.

Love and Blessings,

 Cathy Dorr, Secretary

OBITUARY

From President Mahala Bacon

Dear Members and Friends,

Early this morning (Tuesday, December 8, 2020)  Rev. Sandy Nelson, our Vice President, passed into Spirit. Our hearts are broken, and the Association has lost a loving member and supportive friend.

She was our Treasurer for 10 years, and she has been a blessing to her church for many years as well as the ISA.

As she continues her life experience, we send our love. As she reveals her wisdom from the spirit side may each of us be open to her love, and direction.

We want to extend our condolences to her family, friends and love ones, their lives have changed forever.

Sandy, we love you and will miss your physical presence with us. We know life continues forward for you, although we are sad in thought you have left our sight; we know you are following the path God has designed for you. May our love and support be a part of your next destination.

With heavy heart I remain,

Rev. Mahala D. Bacon, President

PRINTABLE DOCUMENTS

REV. NELLIE VARDAMAN

REV. NELLIE VARDAMAN July 26, 1946-August 7, 2020

Rev. Nellie Vardaman joined her family 7 August at 2:15 pm.

She was instrumental in the continuity of the First Spiritual Church of Prayer. Her adamant nature provided her with direction allowing her to call the chapel her home. She considered where she lived her second home. She didn't accomplish this alone. Rev. Ray Vanett, Jesse Barrier, Hazel, Neil Garwood, and others assisted when and where they could.

After Rev. Nellie's parents transitioned from this plane, her family became Chloe, Lion King, Pippin, others. They filled her life with laughter. Of course, there were others, but she spoke of them the most. They were most extraordinary people as they were her pets.

When Rev. Nellie finally stepped through the door, she left us with an interesting thought. "The door is only wide enough for one. When we are through, there are loved ones there to greet us. We are greeted with love when we exit the door into this realm, and we are greeted with love when we exit the door, entering the next."

Sincerely, Rev. Phillip J. Falcone

ABOUT REV. NELLIE

Nellie, one of our ISA life members, presided as pastor for Church of Prayer many years and hosted quarterlies and conventions during her decades with the ISA.  She welcomed with open arms all who came through the church doors.  Nellie lived a quiet life, she counseled folks, and had prayer time each day for all who came to her in need. Nellie was and still is a beautiful example of Spiritualism in action.
